Stay legal
Georgia window tint law
Georgia sets how dark and reflective your tint can be, measured as VLT (the percent of light a window lets through). Here is the general guidance for passenger vehicles. We keep every install within the law and walk you through the legal shade for each window.
| Window | Legal limit |
|---|---|
| Windshield | Non reflective tint allowed above the manufacturer AS-1 line (roughly the top 6 inches). |
| Front side windows | Must allow more than 32 percent of light in. |
| Back side windows | Must allow more than 32 percent of light in. |
| Rear window | Must allow more than 32 percent of light in. |
| Reflection | Tint must not be more than 20 percent reflective. |
Medical exemptions may allow darker tint with the proper documentation.
SUVs and vans can follow different rules for the rear windows. Ask us about your vehicle.
